Bio
Jay Dawes is an Associate Professor of Strength and Conditioning and the Coordinator for Athletic Performance at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. He has worked as a strength/performance coach, personal trainer, educator, and post-rehabilitation specialist for over 18 years, He is currently the head strength and conditioning coach for the UCCS Men's and Women's Soccer and Women's Volleyball teams. He also coaches and consults with several law enforcement, fire, and military groups.
Jay's primary research interests are improving and measuring performance for Tactical athletes/first responders, and athletes. He is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with Distinction and a NSCA-Certified Personal Trainer with Distinction, and a Tactical Strength and Conditioning-Facilitator, the American College of Sports Medicine as a Clinical Exercise Specialist (CES); USA Weightlifting as a Club Coach, and the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association as a Level 2 Strength and Conditioning Coach. Additionally, Dawes has been recognized as a Fellow of the NSCA since 2009.
